Intro to Mindfulness

Learn what mindfulness is, how to practice mindfulness meditation, and the neuroscience-backed health benefits of training your brain. The session will include information on the brain health benefits of mindfulness, a rejuvenating mindful meditation practice, and key takeaways for mindful living. Attendees will connect with a sense of peace and relaxation during the session and leave with actionable strategies they can implement daily to promote calm and focus amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Veleisa Patton Burrell. As a certified meditation and mindfulness leader, Veleisa leverages her knowledge of the science and principles of wellness to inspire her students to reduce mental clutter and find more space to ‘be’ instead of ‘do.’ A longtime meditation practitioner and advocate, she received her certification for science-based mindfulness from Mastermind in 2020. When she’s not leading mindfulness and yoga classes, Veleisa advises DFW businesses as the founder and CEO of Narrative Evolution Communications. Veleisa is an alum of SMU, and holds a Masters in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington.
